Shah Rukh Khan has a Christmas treat lined up for his fans this year – Aanand L Rai’s Zero. It is an ambitious project for Shah Rukh, and he is leaving no stone unturned to give the film his best. He recently said that he would not take up any film till the release of Zero, but if a report in Deccan Chronicle is to be believed, he has secretly given his nod to Don 3.
It has been seven years since Don 2 hit the screens, and fans have been waiting for the third installment of the franchise with bated breath. Last year, producer Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed that they have zeroed in on a story, and the film was being scripted.
A source is quoted as saying, “Don has been a successful film. Don 2 turned out to be a hit as well, thus ensuring that the franchise can hold good. So, it is not just the makers – producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Farhan Akhtar who are keen to take the film ahead. Shah Rukh Khan too has a sure-shot hit when he works in that film. There are already a lot of fans wanting to see the third part, which makes it a much-awaited project.”
While it is confirmed that Shah Rukh will reprise his role in Don 3, it is not known whether his jungli billi Priyanka Chopra will be by his side. Rumours are rife that the franchise will have a new leading lady. Don 3 is expected to go on floors immediately after the release of Zero on December 21.
